VR Onboarding for Employee Integration & Employer Branding
Not a PDF and a stack of Teams calls — a place new hires step into on day one, and the same asset your employer-branding team uses to attract them in the first place.
Quick answer
VR onboarding immerses new hires in your culture and their role from day one and doubles as your strongest employer-branding surface — the same world runs at recruitment activations and then again inside the company. VR Express builds it headset-optional in WebXR so it scales across remote and distributed teams. Delivered for Postbank across two onboarding iterations. Ready-made modules from €5,000, custom onboarding from €15,000.

These are outcomes reported for those specific Postbank programmes — not industry benchmarks and not a blanket percentage we promise. The number that matters for your team is the one measured against your own current onboarding cost and your first-year attrition baseline. The attrition calculator below sizes that view.
The cost sits in the first 100 days
A large share of turnover happens in the first months, and each early exit re-bills the full cost of hiring. Onboarding that builds genuine belonging — not just paperwork — is the highest-leverage retention investment. Use the calculator below to size it for your team.
Culture immersion, not slideware
We translate your culture and values into an interactive world new hires explore — history, values, team, workflows — as a guided, gamified journey. Shared, multi-user sessions let a cohort onboard together with an HR host, turning day one into connection instead of a login.
Headset-optional means it works everywhere
Remote hires, multiple sites, no hardware to ship — the onboarding world runs on a laptop or phone in the browser via WebXR, and steps up to native VR on Meta Quest where the outcome deserves it. Same world, same brand, two delivery formats.

View caseVR onboarding meets employer branding
The strongest onboarding asset is also the strongest employer-branding asset. The same VR world runs at career fairs and university activations to attract candidates, and hired candidates step back into it on day one — closing the loop from attraction to belonging without a second production. This is the pattern behind our VR-for-recruitment cluster; onboarding is the retention half of it. The attrition calculator on this page sizes the retention business case; the recruitment cluster covers the candidate-attraction half of the same pipeline.
Cost & process
Two published anchors, no vanity ranges. Ready-made modules from €5,000, live in one to two weeks. Custom onboarding worlds from €15,000, with an MVP for a single cohort in two to four weeks. The final number is quantified in the discovery call — a fixed price without scope would be misleading.
Process condensed: (1) Discovery — cohort, goals, delivery format, LMS. (2) Concept — script, interaction design, storyboard. (3) Production — assets, languages, integration. (4) Rollout — WebXR link or headset build, HR host onboarded. (5) Measurement — cohort analytics, iteration.

What does a VR onboarding program cost?
Cost depends on the depth of interaction, asset fidelity, delivery format (native VR headset vs. WebXR in the browser), and the number of languages. As an anchor: ready-made VR/XR modules start at €5,000 and go live in one to two weeks; a custom onboarding world starts at €15,000. The reliable number for your program is quantified in the discovery call — a fixed price without scope would be misleading.
Do new hires need a headset, or does it run in the browser?
Both. For high-immersion moments — culture rituals, walkthroughs of your physical HQ, cohort ceremonies — we deploy native VR on Meta Quest or comparable devices. For distributed rollouts without hardware logistics, we ship WebXR: new hires open a link on a laptop or phone. The choice is driven by cohort size, remote/hybrid mix and the outcome you need on day one.
How does it scale across locations and languages?
The same core world is packaged per language and per site. WebXR delivery removes the hardware-shipping constraint entirely — a new hire in Berlin, Sofia and Bucharest all step into the same onboarding on the device they already have. Analytics separate cohorts by site, role and language.
Does it integrate with our LMS (SCORM/xAPI)?
Yes. Each module is delivered as a SCORM or xAPI package and drops into SAP SuccessFactors, Cornerstone, Moodle, LearnUpon and comparable systems. The learning record captures participant, module version, time-on-task, decisions taken, completion and pass threshold — the same evidence trail HR uses for the rest of the onboarding curriculum.
Is the retention impact measurable?
On the interaction level, yes. We instrument decisions taken inside the onboarding world, completion by cohort, and engagement signals — the raw evidence your HR team needs. What we do not do is print a pre-baked ROI percentage; the honest number emerges when your actual first-year attrition cost is compared to the one-off production plus ongoing operation. Use the attrition calculator on this page to size the retention business case.
How does this support employer branding?
The same VR asset that onboards new hires is the strongest employer-branding piece we build. It runs at career fairs and university activations to attract candidates, and then the hired candidates step back into the same world on day one — closing the loop from attraction to belonging without a second production. See the employer-branding cluster hub for the full pattern.
